The International Gas Union (IGU) was founded in 1931. It is a worldwide non-profit organization registered in Vevey, Switzerland, with the Secretariat currently located in Barcelona, Spain.
The IGU mission is to advocate gas as an integral part of a sustainable global energy system, and to promote the political, technical and economic progress of the gas industry. More than 150 members of the IGU are associations and corporations of the gas industry representing over 97% of the global gas market. The working organization of the IGU covers the complete value of gas chain from exploration and production, transmission via pipelines and liquefied natural gas (LNG), as well as distribution and combustion of gas at the point of use.
The IGU encourages international trade in gas by supporting non-discriminatory policies and sound contracting principles and practices, promoting development of technologies, which add to the environmental benefits of gas and further enhance safe production, transmission, distribution and utilization of gas.
The IGU has the vision of being the most influential, effective and independent non-profit organization, serving as the spokesperson for the gas industry worldwide.

For nearly 70 years, they have been providing economic value to the natural gas industry and energy markets by developing technology-based solutions for industry, government, and consumers. The GTI focuses on key issues, including expanded supply, energy efficiency, sustainability, and climate change.
INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF REFRIGERATION (IIR)

The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) is an independent intergovernmental science and technology based organization, which promotes knowledge of refrigeration and associated technologies that improve quality of life in a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable manner including:
  • Food quality and safety from farm to consumer
  • Comfort in homes and commercial buildings
  • Health products and services
  • Low temperature technology and liquefied gas technology
  • Energy efficiency
  • Use of non-ozone depleting and low global warming refrigerants in a safe manner
The IIR has developed a strong international network comprised of 58 member countries from across the globe, and of corporate and private members who benefit from exclusive information services.
Thanks to these strengths, the IIR is able to pool select expertise to create fruitful collaborations whether focused on the activities of its Commission on Liquefaction and Separation of Gases such as international conferences, Working Groups or information products, or whether addressing any other field of refrigeration.

EXPOFORUM
How to get
EXPOFORUM is the largest and most advanced convention and exhibition centre located in the city’s southern part within a 5-minute drive (6 km distance) from the international Pulkovo airport. EXPOFORUM centre has more than 50,000 m² net of exhibition space situated adjacent to the conference area.
St. Petersburg annually hosts the International Economic Forum and the International Gas Forum – the crucial global events, one of which is referred to as Russia’s Davos. Every year hundreds of representatives of the world’s business elite, top managers of large corporations, reputed statespersons and politicians take part in these high-level Forums.
The general idea of EXPOFORUM centre is to concentrate within one area the entire infrastructure for business events satisfying the international standards. EXPOFORUM centre includes exhibition space both outdoor and indoor, congress centre for 7,000 persons, 45 pillar-free conference halls with a capacity of 15,000 people.
